401 Games is excited to announce changes to our weekly Magic events schedule! We've heard plenty of feedback from players over the years, and taken it all into account when designing this new set of events. We had two main goals: to expand the number of offerings, and to simplify and standardize the prize structures.
First things first, that simplification - all weekday Magic events now start at either 4pm or 7pm. All afternoon events are repeated in the evening, to give you more chances to play the most popular formats. These events are now all 3 rounds, both limited and constructed. We found that players are typically tired and disinterested by the fourth round, and eliminating it allows us to ensure that our players have only the most positive experiences. We're also introducing standardized prizes. Instead of a complicated pool being split among all top finishers, we're taking the average of what the pools would be and giving two shares to 3-0 players, and one share to 2-1 players. In short, this means that in constructed, 3-0 gets $16 in store credit, and 2-1 gets $8. You'll also be happy to know that entry fees are being lowered to $5! As for drafts and other limited events, 3-0 will earn $10 in store credit, while 2-1 will walk away with $5.
The playerbase asked for more events, and more events you'll have! We're adding plenty of afternoon constructed events, and a special Legacy event on Wednesdays. This Legacy event will feature special format staple card prizes given out to 3-0 players, much like our Monday Modern events. Limited has always been very popular at the store as well, so we'll be expanding FNM with Draft and Modern at 4pm (as well as 7pm) on Fridays.
Here's the full new schedule! Note that events for other games will remain unchanged for the time being.

We're also looking forward to expanding on the number of larger events we run. Starting with a Trial for Grand Prix Charlotte on February 27th, we'll be holding a tournament with 1k in guaranteed prizes at least once a month - so stay tuned to check those out!
Hope to see you all out at these events! The new schedule will come into effect in March (technically February 29th). If you have any questions or feedback, let us know at email@example.com.
